CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A candlelight vigil is planned for missing Fort Campbell soldier Shadow McClaine.

Rachel Jackson, CEO and founder of National Veteran Search and Recovery Program (VETSAR), said the vigil will be held tonight, Friday, September 16 at 7 p.m. in front of the Montgomery County Courthouse.

Some candles will be provided, but citizens are encouraged to bring their own.

Jackson said this will be an opportunity for the community to come together during a time of crisis. “We invite everybody to come out and support the family,” she said.

VETSAR is a team that steps in to help when a veteran goes missing or is in danger. Jackson said there is no official team here, but the organization was asked to help with McClaine’s case. They have put civilians together who want to conduct searches in the area.

A sign-up sheet will be available during the vigil for those who wish to help.

McClaine was last heard from by her family on September 2 and did not report for duty at Fort Campbell on September 6.

Her car was found Tuesday in a parking lot in downtown Nashville, but McClaine is still missing.

Jackson encourages anyone with information to direct their tips to U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID) at 270-798-9406, Fort Campbell Military Police at 270-798-0416 or email CID Headquarters at Army.CID.Crime.Tips@mail.mil.

“We are excited that the CID is doing everything that they can,” Jackson said. “Thy are really embracing the family by talking to them and pouring hours into this thing. Everybody is working hard together.”
