CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – An inmate at the Montgomery County Jail died this week after collapsing from a medical condition.
According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sandra Brandon, 34-year-old Marshall Devin Yoder collapsed in front of a nurse Wednesday, July 4 shortly after 4 a.m. while medical staff were conducting rounds.
Brandon said numerous medical staff rendered immediate medical aide and Yoder was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. A doctor pronounced him dead at 5:05 a.m.
“Yoder’s death appears to be from a medical condition that he had prior to being booked into the jail,” Brandon said. “An autopsy will be completed by the medical examiner’s office in Nashville and the investigation into Yoder’s death is still ongoing.”
Yoder was initially booked into the Montgomery County Jail on June 30, 2018 on cocaine and drug paraphernalia charges.
Funeral services for Yoder will be held Sunday, July 8 at 2 p.m. at at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
