One of the biggest names in the world of comics and super heroes has passed away at the age of 95 according to TMZ and a multitude of other sources.

TMZ states that an ambulance rushed to Lee’s Hollywood Hills home and to Cedars_Sinai Medical center where it is said he died.

Stan Lee began his comic career in the 40’s and in the 1960’s, along with Jack Kirby, created the Marvel Universe.

Characters like Spider-Man, X-Men, The Avengers and so many more lit up our lives as not only children but in recent years with the live action films like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and of course The Avenger movies as well. Each film was graced with a fantastic cameo appearance from Lee.

Lee served his country during WWII, taking a hiatus from his job at Timely Comics where he essentially worked as an intern. During his time serving, he worked on his writing skills and returned to Timely in 1945.

Rumors swirled for years about Lee passing away and every time it was a hoax. Sadly, today, it is no longer a hoax.

Stan gave us so much and he will forever be missed.
