New Providence Middle School Teacher wins $500, Teacher of the Month

Tonya Hedrick has spent over a decade helping students at New Providence Middle School love math. While most people shudder in fear over the thought of preteens or long division, Ms. Hedricks embraces both with an energetic attitude and love of learning.

“She is a good teacher she does her best to help everyone. Goes out of her way to make math fun,” said her nomination.

Ms. Hedrick has spent 13 years teaching both science and math in middle school.

When her principal, Principal Scott Wainwright, learned of her award he was delighted. “I can’t think of a more deserving candidate.”

Each month Q108 is honoring one teacher as the Teacher of the Month. The contest is sponsored by Action Air in Clarksville.
