CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Mayor Kim McMillan administered the service oath to eight new Clarksville Police Cadets on Friday.

The new hires, who fill open budgeted positions, will enter the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in January for a 12-week course of study, then they will team with CPD Field Training Officers for another 14 weeks.

“Swearing in new officers is one of the best parts of this job,” Mayor McMillan told the cadets. “When you raise your right hand and take this oath, it’s time to get serious, because the lives of all us are in your hands. I want to thank you for your commitment to public service, and I thank your families for supporting you in this important work.”

The new Clarksville Police Department cadets are:
• Jamal Alquzweeni.
• Ryan Creech.
• Shannon L. Creighton.
• Elijah R. Horton.
• Dylan V. Lawrence.
• Adam T. Price.
• Lyssed B. Pacheco Robinson.
• Nicholas A. Rodriguez
Police Chief Al Ansley congratulated the cadets and thanked family members for supporting their loved ones’ law enforcement careers.

“Take a look at those people behind you,” Ansley told the cadets. “Your families are a big part of this, and they are more important to you now than ever.”
