CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Back in April, the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System announced its plan for this year’s graduating class.

In addition to smaller ceremonies held at schools in accordance with state health guidelines, the district also announced plans to hold an online ceremony that would take place at the originally scheduled graduation dates and times.

Today, the district has released an update in regards to the online graduation ceremonies.

At this time, the district plans to release video ceremonies on May 21, 2020, at 4 p.m. local time. These videos will be available on the CMCSS website and its social media platforms for easy viewing and sharing.

Message to Students and Parents from CMCSS

“All CMCSS high school online graduation celebrations will be posted on www.cmcss.net and social media on Thursday, May 21 at 4 p.m. Although the district planned to release these videos at the times and dates of the originally scheduled ceremonies for each school, we want to celebrate the district’s almost 2,400 graduates in unity. Whether you decide to watch when the videos are posted or wait until what would have been your school’s May graduation date, we hope that these online celebrations will serve as a special recognition of the Class of 2020 until the in-person graduation ceremonies can take place over the summer. Please see below for reminders about the in-person ceremonies.”

The district is still planning to hold graduations over the summer, in accordance with social distancing guidelines. This means that families should expect a limit of, at most, two guests per student. Should inclement weather arise, ceremonies would transition indoors and guests would be further limited. More information on in-person graduation ceremonies will be made available by June 1.
