CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Operation Stand Down Tennessee recently hosted an open house for their new location in downtown Clarksville at 115 Third St. The nonprofit organization moved from 400 Madison St. where it had been since opening in 2015.
District Manager for the Clarksville Service Center Dan Moore said the new space is an upgrade in just about every way.
“The community support has been outstanding. This enables us to be more of an asset to our community partners, but also, we can really expand on the services that we provide to our veterans. It just enables us to do more for them,” Moore said.
Eden Murrie, chief executive officer for Operation Stand Down Tennessee, said the new facility will help them provide more professional services to veterans.
“We engage, we equip and we empower veterans. It doesn’t matter where you served or how long you served, if you served in the armed forces come and see us. We are here to help the veteran community in any way we can,” Murrie said.
Murrie praised veteran Joe Maynard and his Clarksville business Echo Power Engineering for their support in securing the new home.
OSDTN offers services including financial assistance, transitional housing, transportation, counseling and legal support just to name a few.
The new facility has a community room with state- of-the-art technology. There are three private consultation rooms, an executive conference room, and a staff area.
OSDTN will host its sixth annual Clarksville Heroes Breakfast fundraiser on April 29 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. Registration is at 8 a.m. with breakfast at 8:30. The keynote speaker is Corp. Matthew Bradford, USMC (retired).
