Smoke coming from Fort Campbell is controlled burn in training area

FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Residents in the Woodlawn area may have seen smoke coming from Fort Campbell today, but there’s no emergency taking place.

Fort Campbell Directorate of Public Works Forestry Branch is conducting a prescribed burn in a training area near Highway 78, according to a news release.

The fire is in the area of Palmyra Road and Oakwood Road on post, according to Montgomery County officials.

Personnel are monitoring the fire, and they will continue to do so through the night, the release said.
