CLARKSVILLE, TN – USO Fort Campbell/Nashville is teaming up with Clarksville’s Custom House Museum & Cultural Center for the 2nd annual “MilKid Art Show” on display at the museum from April 1-22 to celebrate the Month of the Military Child.

As part of the event, the public can visit the museum and see artwork done by military children from our local Fort Campbell Community. This year’s prompt for the show is “What it means to be a military kid.” We will be displaying 50 pieces of art by local children on display in the entry way to the museum. There is a military discount for those wanting to visit the museum with valid military ID.

“The USO is proud to be able to connect with the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center to celebrate these amazing and resilient children,” said Ann Jarvis, Executive Director, USO Fort Campbell/Nashville. “This initiative offers our military and their families a chance to connect with our community outside of Fort Campbell, plus how cool is it to be a kid and have your artwork hung in a museum!”

“Many military kids have a hard time answering, ‘Where are you from?’ We hope that seeing their artwork proudly displayed at Customs House Museum & Cultural Center will show that they are welcome here and are truly a part of Clarksville and the surrounding community, now and always.” Stephanie Stafford, Museum Curator of Education.

Media are invited to attend the MilKid Art Show gallery opening reception on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 2:00pm.

Interested media should contact Ann Jarvis, at ajarvis@uso.org or (760) 681-3114 to make arrangements by 4 p.m. April 11, 2024.
