817 Miles To Clarksville!

It sure is good to be back! As most of you know, I was off all last week because I was back in Texas getting the family ready to move up here. Now I can say with confidence that after 817 miles and 20 hours with my wife, father in law, 2 kids, 2 dogs, and a cat, I am BEYOND HAPPY to be back at work.

Day one of our travels took us north through Texas into our stopping point of Little Rock. Now you may be thinking, oh I’m sure that took no time at all. Wrong. It took 8 hours. (Granted, about an hour and a half of that was having to make stops for the kids) But you know what 6 hours of driving north in Texas gets you? MORE TEXAS. People underestimate just how big that state is, even myself who grew up there.

We pulled into our hotel in Little Rock around 9pm. Thankfully there was a bar in the hotel that also served food and look, it wasn’t a 5 star restaurant, but after a full day of travel and hearing “I’m bored, are we there yet” it may as well have been. I also had to make a 10pm diaper run to Wal-Mart because we forgot to pack diapers for the 6 month old.

Day Two, while we were EXHAUSTED, was a lot more fun though. Our excitedment of being in our new city and seeing just how pretty Tennessee as a whole is, far outweighed our exhaustion. We loved seeing the pretty countryside as we drove up 13. Seeing tons of lakes, creeks, and rivers just made me want to stop at an Academy, get a fishing license, and spend the rest of the day casting a line.

My family is excited to be part of this wonderful community. We are thrilled with all the beautiful scenery and how family oriented Clarksville is. I told my wife, that while I know how to fish, I haven’t done it in YEARS. That is something I’m going to change once we get settled in. I’m going to learn the true ins and outs of fishing so I can take my children and teach them. We can’t wait to catch a show for Downtown At Sundown and relax in the Downtown Commons taking in a show with our new community.

We are thrilled to be here Clarksville. And for those that I have seen talking about “We can’t seem to keep a morning show around here” don’t worry, after all that travel, we’re here for the long haul, moving cross country is NOT something I wish to do again for a long time!
