Taylor Swift is everywhere. She’s even in the classroom at APSU! Or at least her lyrics are.
According to Clarksville Now, honors students at Austin Peay are:
“analyzing the connections between Taylor Swift’s discography and iconic poems dating back to the 18th century” in a course called “The Invisible String of Romanticism”.
The course takes a look at lyrics from different albums from Swift each week of the course. The students will compare the modern lyrics to poetry dating back to the 1800s for a total of 16 weeks.
Some students take the course because they’re huge Taylor fans and come out of the course with a whole new love for vintage romantic poetry and literature!
The course was designed by Delaney Atkins, academic associate to the executive director for Austin Peay’s Honors and President’s Emerging Leaders programs, “to help students develop a greater appreciation for the arts”.
