I never would have guessed that U-turns are illegal in Clarksville. As a new resident, I have only been here for 17 days, and I was surprised to learn this fact. Luckily, Officer Lawrence was in the studio this morning and informed me that I have allegedly been breaking the law. It’s my fault for not knowing, but where I’m from in Texas, U-turns are common practice. However, I understand the importance of following the traffic laws in my new city, even if it means breaking old habits.
I realize that driving habits can vary from place to place, and it’s crucial to be aware of traffic laws in any new area someone may visit or move to. Even though U-turns are a routine part of driving in my hometown, I need to respect the traffic laws of my new city. After all, it’s not just about avoiding a ticket; it’s about ensuring everyone’s safety on the road. I promise to do my best to follow the rules of the road in Clarksville, even if it means breaking some old driving habits.
