Legit Travel to INDIA in Clarksville (DELICIOUS)

It used to be Italian. Then Thai. Now my favorite food HANDS DOWN is Indian cuisine. The flavor is incredible. The food is so fresh and unique. You almost never experience a “bad” dish. If anything, the more you try, the more you love!

It was a fine-dining restaurant in Philadelphia that began my love affair with Indian cuisine. I was completely hooked and have since found another incredible restaurant in the foodie town of Asheville, NC.

So I was curious to try Singh’s Royal Indian Cuisine on Madison St. You can find the restaurant tucked away in the Sango Walmart plaza.

All it took was one visit. Wow. This is some of the BEST I’ve EVER had.

Starting with the Naan bread, some restaurants will offer maybe two different varieties. Royal Indian Cuisine offers NINETEEN different types of Naan bread!! The one we order every time is called Kashmiri Naan. It has sweet glazed nuts on the inside. It’s like a dessert. So unique and delicious!

If you’ve ever been to an Indian buffet (yes they offer one here for lunch) you may have tried a few different chutneys. These are sauces that you can add to any dish. My Dad was a huge fan of chutney so we always had some in the fridge. Though I love them all, we tend to get a side of mint chutney as it adds a touch of cool sweetness if the dish is spicy.

Lately, I had been getting the Paneer Tikka, homemade cottage cheese marinated in spiced yogurt and vegetables, cooked on a skewer in a Tandoor oven. It comes sizzling and FULL of flavor.

I’m obsessed. I also tried a dessert called Rasmalai, a creamy and milky mixture of cottage cheese balls flavored with nuts, rosewater, and more. They had me at rosewater.

Yes, clearly I love this food. This is some of the best Indian cuisine I’ve ever tasted. And I’m comparing this to 5-star Indian cuisine restaurants found in major cities. James Beard-winning restaurants.

We’re very lucky to have such tasty, authentic, and fresh Indian cuisine here in Clarksville. If you’ve never tried Indian, this is an incredible place to start. Warning that you will get spoiled because you will hold every other Indian restaurant to this tasty standard.
