Not Your Parents’ Beer

Do you remember your first beer? You may have been wondering “Is THIS what all the fuss is about?”

Well, beer has come a long way since the days of your standard big-name corporate lagers. When I lived out in the mountains of Asheville, NC I was introduced to more varieties of beer than I had ever heard of before. Asheville is Beer City. There are over 80 breweries in that one area alone. Yup, 80. And many are the top-rated craft breweries in the world.

So when I moved back to Clarksville I was beyond excited to see the craft beer scene here growing. Going to a taproom to taste a “flight” is one of my favorite things to do. The more varied the flight the better. This is where you can choose brews from a Saison to a Sour, or a Hazy IPA to a Double Bock. From a Stout to a Porter. From a Hefeweizen to a Dunkel. Some may look and taste, unlike anything that resembles your standard ale.

So if you thought you’re not a beer sipper you may want to give a “flight” a try. You just may find your new passion!!
