THIS Changes Everything in Clarksville

When we watched the new F & M Bank Arena go up we were hopeful. The thought of bringing top-tier talent to Clarksville was exciting for families for a number of reasons. The main reason is that lives are busier than ever. To go to a show in Nashville you have to plan a large chunk of time out of your day to plan for possible backups on I-24, then find parking and hope you won’t make it back home TOO late.

Last weekend Disney on Ice performed 4 shows at the new arena and we also hoped that people would come. And come they did!! In walking to the new arena for the first time, I’m not sure what brought happy tears to my eyes first. Seeing the lights dim for a spectacular show or the amount of people who were just as excited. And the LITTLE ONES!! To see a sea of children dressed as their favorite Disney characters, shrieking in delight any time a new character skated onto the rink was so moving. And I’m not a parent. I can only imagine what it must have been like to watch your child’s face light up for two hours straight.

Disney has a way of making everyone no matter your age, feel like a kid again. That is the Magic of Disney. The stories are timeless and so ingrained in our minds and especially our hearts. You’re immediately transported to that time when your favorite stories were fairytales with incredible music to match.

It was a turning moment for the city. Disney came to US! And it was PURE MAGIC!!

Well done F & M Bank Arena. We can’t wait to be moved by the music, the events, the hockey, and all things to come to Clarksville.

Thank you to everyone who poured concrete under the scorching sun, installed the seats, and the lighting, and designed this beautiful space. You have changed our city and we are so grateful.
