Watch for this Hopkinsville Scam

Scammers are at it again. According to Christian County Now:

“…the Hopkinsville Fire Department and Christian County Sheriff’s Office both warn the community of phone scams soliciting money and personal information.”

The caller may warn you that you have a warrant out for your arrest due to missed jury duty. Sources say the caller claims to be Lt. Scott Smith or Maj. Ricky Burgess.

The purpose of the call is to gain personal information or money. The following numbers are where these calls seem to originate from.

270-987-3468 and 270-987-3268

The Hopkinsville Fire Department is warning of a similar scam. Residents in these scams are being asked for donations on behalf of the Hopkinsville Fire Department.

The Hopkinsville Fire Department says they never call to ask for donations.
